My approach to counseling is based on a variety of theoretical perspectives including Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapies and Existential (meaning-based) Therapy. I've worked extensively with trauma survivors to help them find healing from their past, and to begin creating a life worth living for themselves in the present. I became a therapist because I wanted to work with clients who had experienced trauma, and while I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ clients, I have worked successfully with clients from numerous backgrounds. **Currently not accepting new clients** Sometimes couples feel as if they are stuck. Stuck in conflict, stuck in trust and communication issues, or stuck in stagnation. Activism is a huge part of what I bring in my therapy work with clients. In trauma and healing work, I bring my direct experiences of anti-oppression, feminist, and social justice frameworks to clients. I understand that I am not excused from doing work to dismantle systems of oppression, due to the privileges from my intersectional identities as a college-educated, cisgendered, Filipina woman of color. Trauma and healing work require an alignment and connection to one’s body, mind, spiritual values and practices, and I see this as an extension of my involvement in activism, anti-oppression, and social justice work. Are you confused by the workplace matrix of power, promotions and firings, or repeated negative patterns in your relationships? I facilitate a deeper understanding of how to survive and thrive by uncovering negative thought habits and implementing a positive, productive outlook. I help you to assess your communication and leadership styles and uncovers areas that, when strengthened, lead to a more satisfying work-life and relationships. My theoretical lense is Jungian and archetypal. I employ family systems, mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), and an Existential and person-centered approach to working with my clients. The goal is a collaborative, active and productive effort to changing your life for the better. I care about my client's well-being and accept each individual where they are. My work focuses on targeting unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior that interfere with daily functioning. I believe in working collaboratively with individuals to help them gain the insight and coping skills needed to lead a more fulfilling life. My areas of specialty include anxiety and depressive disorders, life transitions, and interpersonal conflict. I also have specialized training in health behavior change (e.g., quitting smoking, improving sleep), psychological adjustment to chronic medical conditions, and trauma/PTSD.
