I work with men who have difficulty identifying with their feelings, struggle with depression and anxiety, or have issues with their work/life balance. My clients typically struggle with expressing themselves in their relationships. They feel lonely, hopeless, and isolated. They are overworked and under loved. In our work together, I will give you support, feedback and insight, and constructively challenge patterns and beliefs that may be getting in your way. Together we can strive to understand the roots of the struggles you are experiencing in your life. I utilize techniques from numerous evidenced-based theoretical perspectives and will customize treatment to fit your specific needs. My work is often a mixture of psychodynamic, attachment, and systems theories. This approach views clients within the context of early experiences, attachment to caregivers, and within multiple systems (family, work, school). I do remote sessions only and serve the states of Washington and Indiana

My goal is to help clients transform their pain into an opportunity for self-discovery, healing and empowerment, to ultimately reclaim their voice, purpose, and self-worth. I welcome individuals who feel disconnected, overwhelmed, lost, or that they "don't belong" as well as people who have experienced abuse or struggle with negative body image and a harsh inner critic. I work virtually with clients all over Washington. I believe that our ability to heal is connected to, and reliant upon our attunement to our bodies and connections with each other. I use a non judgmental approach creating a safe and supportive setting. My aim is to explore with curiosity and kindness the aspects of life clients wish to attend. I draw from mindfulness to help ground in the here and now while also exploring the past and how it has informed us. I’ll be encouraging and championing alongside you to find new ways of being. I am a relational therapist which means that I am a very real person in the room. I appreciate unconditional acceptance, connection, deep love, laughter, honesty and forgiveness. I also value imperfection, awkwardness and the messiness of life and relationships. I'm a fan of being human and all it entails.

Currently my practice is full. Taking the time and effort to increase self-awareness and explore your behavioral patterns and thoughts can be one of the most valuable things that you do in your life. Seeking therapy is a sign of personal strength, not of weakness. Therapy is one method to explore how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors influence your daily choices and relationships. Working with a licensed therapist can provide the objective and knowledgeable feedback needed to identify specific barriers, define and develop goals and gain the valuable skills and confidence to make that change. I have been working in mental health for over 20 years, helping individuals meet their goals and live more meaningful lives. Utilizing mindfulness exercises to increase body awareness in the here and now, we are able to be present. Only in the present moment are we able to make the most informed choices. My goal is for you to leave our sessions with ideas, readings, insight and skills to practice or reflect on that will affect how you relate to the world.

Therapy offers something unique: a space set aside for the sole purpose of getting to know your life. Many seek therapy out of the desire for change. As hopeless as a life or relationship can feel, the desire for change is enough to begin working towards something new. Therapy can be a great aid in this effort. Your struggles with anxiety, depression, sexuality, relationships, feeling lost and disconnected - are overwhelming to face alone. Through therapy, I believe these struggles can be bridges of connection, to life and those you love. I offer a space to begin together wherever you are on the journey of becoming a friend to yourself. This includes confronting all you wish could be different about the person you are and the life you lead. We can't confront our disappointment and hurt alone. I hold kindness and curiosity so we can explore all you've experienced - the good and the difficult. My hope is the work we do together allows you to reengage the world with more hope, freedom, clarity and joy. Connecting to one's own needs and desires allows relationships to be more fruitful and pleasure-filled. Enriching one's relationships starts with fostering a relationship with yourself. I look forward to working together on this most wonderful task.

We are often presented with a plan for how our lives might look by our family, community, and society. What happens when your life goes off-script? Maybe you lose someone important to you, and you are left wondering how to pick up the pieces and move forward. Maybe you see your peers seeming to “check the boxes” of adulthood and feel like you’re falling behind or failing. Maybe you’ve retired and are finding it difficult to adjust to a life outside your job. Maybe you don’t fit into the straight, binary norm and you’re struggling to find what a full and healthy life looks like for you when you don't have a template. All of these situations can leave you feeling lost, and may lead to problems with anxiety and depression. How do you find meaning and hope when things aren’t the way you expected them to be? Let's look for the answer to this question. I use an affirming, client-centered approach to help you find the direction you want to take and the tools you need. I work with adults over 25, of all genders. I am currently accepting new clients for telehealth and in-person therapy. Contact me via email or phone to set up a free consultation call.

If you or someone close to you has lost a loved one to death, sickness, or the ending of a relationship, you know how difficult it can be to readjust to life without them. I know on both a personal and professional level how difficult, confusing, scary, and lonely these changes can be. My hope in working with people through therapy is to provide a safe place to process loss while acknowledging the impact loss has on individuals and families. I have experience counseling individuals, couples, and families who are working through a number of life issues including the following: adjustment, anxiety, depression, and restructuring of relationships. If you feel like substance use seems to control you more than you control it, you aren’t alone. For so many people, alcohol and other drugs are firmly embedded in day-to-day life: Stressful day? Time for a drink. Celebration? Yes, let’s party. Socializing? To the bar. Bored, nervous, lonely, restless, excited, frustrated—the list of emotions and experiences commonly coupled with alcohol or other drugs goes on and on. I believe in your capacity to build a better relationship to substances, to emotions, to others, and to yourself. Simply by arriving here and considering support, you're tapping into that part capable of change. Whether you're looking to stay sober, practice moderation, or explore the mental health issues making life difficult, I'm ready to meet you wherever you're at. As a dual-licensed mental health and substance use counselor, I'm able to work with a variety of mental health issues especially when alcohol, drugs, or other addictions are entangled with them. I use attachment and neurobiological theories to address substance use and other addictive tendencies at their roots, which is so often trauma, isolation, and relationship wounds. Together, we can figure out how these experiences are showing up in your responses to stress—and practice new responses that feel more helpful. Email me to see if we're a fit!

I work with individuals ages 18 and up, as well as couples and parents. I believe symptoms are a request from the psyche to grow -- whether this manifests as depression, anxiety, or just a feeling that you want more from your life or your relationships. Or you may be experiencing a transition, grief, or loss and need support to navigate this change. Therapy creates a space in which healing and growth can happen. I believe humans have a natural, inherent tendency toward health and self-actualization. We are hard-wired to live good and meaningful lives, but sometimes need support to do so. With individual clients, my work is informed by Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, the Emotional Freedom Technique, Existential, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy modalities. With couples, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy and Gottman principles. My work with parents is informed by attachment research, Dan Siegel, Wendy Mogel, and others. I am also trained to treat pregnant and postpartum women and their partners, helping them take care of themselves as they adjust to life with babies. I also love working with busy professionals, helping them improve their wellness – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually – so they can find greater satisfaction and happiness, at home and at work.

Therapy is a space for you to feel heard, validated and supported. It's an approach to feel less anxious, work toward goals, heal from trauma, and improve relationships. It can sometimes feel impossible to find ways to thrive in the capitalistic, oppressive system we're in, especially for marginalized folks. It is my goal for us to find ways for you to feel safe, fulfilled and content. I enjoy working with clients from all walks of life and am comfortable hearing whatever it is you need to say. I come from a queer, polyamorous background in my personal life, but work with folks of any identity or lifestyle. I offer a grounding presence, a space without judgement and tools for you to use in your day-to-day life. I take a direct, relational approach. I will hold you accountable to doing the work with compassion and patience. If you’d like some support, please reach out!
